Outlaw Curtis "Dawn" Conrad searches for a mysterious cowboy known only as "Midnight" in hopes of answering questions about his past and possibly his future. On his journey, he and his companions encounter foes in the form of law enforcement, the noble rangers, other outlaws, and supernatural forces beyond explanation.
A lone Outlaw wanders down the vacant roads of Sunnyville with his horse by his side, but is halted by the local law enforcement. The Outlaw has no choice but to fight if he wants to escape the town a free man.
Curtis makes his way through the bustling town of Coyote run hoping to restock his supplies and sleep in a real bed for once in a while. Unfortunately, things never go as planned when trouble follows him wherever he goes.
Sly approaches Curtis with a proposition to join the Outlaw on his adventures and Curtis shares more about his past and who exactly he is searching for.
Curtis and the gang continue east toward the next town, Onyxlanding, but quickly learn that the open desert is just as dangerous as a crowded city or town.
Curtis and the gang arrive in Onyxlanding to resupply and rest. Unfortunately, they can't go anywhere without running into trouble and another Outlaw gets in their way.
The gang finally gets to settle down for a proper night's rest in Onyxlanding, but the past begins to catch up and brings unrest in its wake.
The gang make their way toward Proudkeep. After a brief break at the Twin River E., they stumble upon a pair of travelers in need of assistance.
Finally in Proudkeep, the gang finds yet another dangerous challenge that they can't ignore.
Curtis, Sly, and Mabel make their way toward Tangate but are interrupted when they hear a loud noise and choose to investigate the scene for any potential Outlaws to capture.
The gang faces off against another threatening Ranger from the Band of Lovers along with his animal companion.
The gang is separated! Mabel assesses her situation and makes a plan for her next move while Curtis and Sly strategize a rescue mission.
Curtis and Sly commence their attack on Band of Lovers' outpost in Yellowtusk. The rangers have the homefield advantage, but the outlaws are clever and determined to rescue Mabel.
Curtis and Sly continue their assault on the Band of Lovers' branch outpost and finally obtain a clue about Midnight's true identity and his potential whereabouts. Meanwhile, rangers all over the Valley Strip prepare for what is seen as the coming of a new age of outlaws.
Two weeks after battling the Band of Lovers, Curtis, Sly and Mabel are laying low in Tangate. But with funds running low and suspicion growing, they can't stay much longer and prepare to depart back into the open desert for another stretch of adventure.
On their first day back in the field, the heatwave is driving the trio of wanderers wild. When they spot a rocky hill to serve as respite from the scorching sun, not all is as it seems.
Curtis and Sly search the desert for Mabel after she stormed off in the middle of the night.
Mabel finds herself alone in the desert with no one to help but herself. Not only is the desert hostile, but so, too, are her own thoughts and memories which haunt her.
With the trio back together, they venture to Rich River and encounter previously unknown benefactors with similar goals in finding Midnight.
After getting acquainted with Minutes 'til Midnight, Curtis and the gang spend more time in Rich River and appreciate the niceties and wonders of a modern town nearer to the Big City.
Curtis, Sly, and Mabel discuss the dried up river in Bullwater with Minutes 'til Midnight and decide on the best course of action to discover the cause and any possible connection it may have to Midnight.
With rangers from the White Snakes hot on their trail, the trio makes it to Far Reach and investigates possible leads on Midnight. As per usual, they get more than they bargained for in a city unwelcoming to outsiders.
After escaping the clutches of the White Snakes through the generosity of the rangers, Curtis, Sly, and Mabel meet familiar mustachioed faces in the desert, but a show isn't all they're in for that evening.
Sly and Curtis are determined to cure Mabel of her dread of returning to Thorntree. To do so, they plan a surprise that will help right the wrongs associated with her hometown.
Minutes 'til Midnight introduces Curtis, Sly, and Mabel to someone with plentiful knowledge of spells, the Government's Mystic Program, and Midnight, as well as the potential link between all three.
The gang faces off against the other two members of Angel Eyes's group, the White Snakes. They also discover an unlikely ally and have a close call with the doyen himself.
The gang investigates the now vacant ranch once owned and lived in by Midnight. Peace never lasts long for outlaws in the Valley Strip, however, as the White Snakes aren't far behind and prepare to end Curtis's journey once and for all.
